The primary organs of the reproductive system in males are the testes, which produce sperm and the hormone testosterone. Sperm is produced through a process called spermatogenesis, and it is stored and transported through the vas deferens. In females, the primary organs are the ovaries, which produce eggs and the hormones estrogen and progesterone. Eggs develop within structures called follicles and are released during ovulation into the fallopian tubes, where fertilization can occur. The reproductive system also includes various accessory organs, such as the uterus, vagina, and accessory glands, which aid in fertilization, pregnancy, and childbirth.
